Police were summoned to a Memorial Rd. location shortly after midnight on July 5 in response to reports of a large group of individuals lighting fireworks, and being extremely loud.
Upon arrival, officers spotted approximately 40 people in the area, and many of them began running down Derby St. after they spotted the police.
As the officers advised those who remained to disperse and leave the area, a fight broke out in the middle of Temple St. involving about 20 people who had just vacated the Derby St. location.
Motor vehicles reportedly had to stop short, and could not drive by safely due to the fact that the street was being blocked by individuals involved in the melee.
The responding officers called for backup, and after additional units arrived the fight was eventually broken up and most of the participants left the area.
Shortly afterwards, however, police received reports of another fight taking place elsewhere on Derby St., and it was determined that the same people involved in the previous brawl were at it once again at this location.
Again, this crowd was dispersed and a group of these individuals moved to the entrance of the Mystic Housing Developments on Memorial Rd., where they reportedly commenced to chant and shout disparaging remarks about the police.
Once again, certain individuals in this group began fighting among themselves.
According to reports, several residents of the complex and passersby took notice and were clearly inconvenienced by the disturbance.
The officers managed to break up the fights and in the process several individuals were placed under arrest:
Jordan Yandle was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
Daishawn Ulysse, Davonte Bowden, and James Andrew, were each placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct.
