Update:

All buildings affected by this morning’s events on the Medford/Somerville campus have been cleared by law enforcement, and the campus is returning to limited operations for the remainder of the day, Monday, May 9. Students, faculty, and staff are free to move about campus. For the peace of mind of the community and due to the ongoing investigation, there will be an enhanced police presence for the remainder of the day.

The Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS) at 120 Curtis Street is open for students, while faculty and staff may seek confidential support resources through the Tufts University Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The counselor on call and administrator on call are available through the TUPD non-emergency number, 617-627-3030.

Earlier this morning The City of Somerville issued the following advisory:

This morning Somerville Police and Fire responded to a car fire at 124 Professors Row, and discovered a suspicious note indicating bomb threats at several Tufts University buildings.

The fire was extinguished and local and state police remain on scene investigating the bomb threats. At this time the buildings in question are secured until further notice. Residents are advised to remain off campus and to seek alternate routes this morning.

Police will remain on scene throughout the morning to continue their investigations. Updated notification will be sent when the area has been cleared.
