A Delaware man elbowed and kicked police officers as he screamed for beer and foamed at the mouth on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Adrian Ramirez, 31, was heavily intoxicated when an employee at Liquor Zone on Washington Street refused to sell him beer, police said.

Ramirez left after police responded but approached an officer outside the store on the sidewalk, police said. He allegedly shouted that he wanted more beer and pointed his finger in the officer's face and said, "You think you're tough, don't you? I'll kick your ass."

Ramirez then turned around and walked back inside Liquor Zone, police said.

As police cuffed Ramirez he allegedly elbowed and kicked them. He was arrested and charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
