The design for Symphony Park, Somerville’s newest park, was developed through a comprehensive community process. Located at the corner of Pearl and Florence Streets in East Somerville, the park will be a quiet neighborhood pocket park containing amenities for all generations and abilities.

The park was inspired by the legacy of the Hadley family who created music on this site and beyond. Samuel Hadley was a music teacher & director of the Somerville School Music program for 60 years. Arthur Hadley was a cellist with Boston Symphony & San Francisco Symphony. Henry Hadley was a composer & conductor, director-conductor of the San Francisco Symphony & New York Philharmonic. Founded the Berkshire Symphonic Festival at Tanglewood
