The Somerville Health and Human Services Department has scheduled the first two public flu vaccination clinics of the season. Clinics are open for Somerville residents and non-residents. While there is no charge for vaccinations, attendees are asked to bring an insurance card if available. Please wear clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm. Attendees requiring additional assistance or other accommodations should contact the Somerville Health Department at 617-625-6600 ext. 4300. More clinics will be scheduled as vaccine becomes available.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, adults aged 65 and older are invited to receive a free flu vaccine during the Council on Aging’s Health Fair at 167 Holland St. High dose flu vaccine (commonly known as “senior flu vaccine”) will be available at this clinic. Youth ages 9 to 18 are invited to receive a free flu vaccine on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the City Hall Annex, 50 Evergreen Ave. Both nasal mist and injectable formulations of vaccine will be available at this clinic. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
