Sagun Limbu lives, works and studies at Endicott College. She wrote us: “My name is Sagun. In my language it means a gift. All my life, I have been traveling from Nepal to India to Hong Kong and now America. I am getting scared about the fact that my stomach has started to crave pasta more than rice!”
Almost Purple
Smile at a pile of almost purple grapes
want to eat them right now
smile at a pile of almost purple grapes
like small pebbles I put together
as a child
like olives but not exactly the same
taste
like wild berries in my grandfather’s
backyard in Nepal
Almost purple
maroon grapes
want to eat them all,
empty the container
Almost purple grapes like-
tamarind on a chilly day.
