Roommate slapped, robbed at backyard beer fest in Somerville

A Somerville man was slapped and had $30 stolen in a dispute with his roommates Sunday, police said.

Jorgelino Cardona, 36, of 62 Bonair St., and Simon Arzola, 28, of 65 Pinckney St., allegedly told the victim, "If you call the police we will kill you."



Police responded to 65 Pinckney St., where the assault allegedly occurred, with the victim and found a group of men sitting in the yard and drinking beer.

The victim pointed at Arzola and said he was the man who took his cash but not the man who slapped him, police said.

The victim began to shake and tremble when he saw Cardona and identified him as the man who slapped him, police said.

Cardona was arrested and charged with witness intimidation, assault and battery, unarmed robbery and threatening to commit a crime. Arzola was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery, threatening to commit a crime, witness intimidation.
