In front of hundreds of supporters Aug. 31, President Clinton’s Secretary of Labor, endorsed Avi Green in the Sept. 14 Democratic Primary for State Representative for the 26th Middlesex district.

“Avi is a progressive Democrat, an organizer, and a fighter,” said Robert Reich (left), who also ran for governor in 2001.

“There is a lot at stake in this election. If you are pro-choice, support commonsense gun control, and want to see corporations pay more of their fair share, you can’t have a better champion than Avi Green,” Reich said.

Green is challenging the incumbent, State Rep. Timothy J. Toomey Jr., for the seat that represents East Cambridge, the city’s Ward 1 and parts of Ward 2.
