The only member of the city’s Beacon Hill delegation whose district does not include another city Sept. 16 spoke about the recent primary results.

“I was very surprised to hear that Ciampa had lost. We had worked well together and I look forward to working with Carl Sciortino,” said State Rep. Patricia D. Jehlen, D-Somerville.

“I want to congratulate Tim Toomey on his victory. We have also worked well together, especially on issues like the Green Line extension,” she said.

Jehlen said she wishes Toomey well in his General Election match up with Republican David R. Slavitt in November. Her own opponent in November is Republican Dane Baird.

Jehlen and Baird are scheduled to deebate Oct. 13 at Union Square’s The Independent.
