Gloria M. Hasche, the office manager for the management office at Clarendon Hill Towers, was voted the recipient of the “Unsung Hero Award” on Tuesday April 26 by the Clariton Hills board of directors by blind ballot.

“Annually, a resident or staff member is selected by the board of directors for an unsung hero award. This is a person who goes way beyond his or her requirements,” said Khalil G. “Chuck” Laham, the site manager at Clarendon Hill.  “You get a plaque.  It’s a good feeling because 500 people think you’re worth it.”

“I’m not into these things, so I was surprised,” Hasche said.

“Gloria is the first person in my tenure of ten years who has been capable, pleasant, and hardworking,” Laham said. “She started as a receptionist, moved on to receptionist-secretary, and then became the office manager, all  in less than five years.”

“Most of the time I work extra hours, and I do what I can for the tenants,” Hasche said.

She said that the award will be officially presented to her on July 9 at the annual Clarendon Hill Towers block party.
