Cops and Citizens Nab Davis Square Purse Thief

       Somerville police apprehended and arrested a man mere steps away from the scene of the crime today on Highland Ave. at approximately 6:00 P.M.

       "I was walking out of the station when suddenly a light skinned, brown haired white guy with a newspaper boy cap, bumped into me and grabbed my purse. He ran away and I started to scream," said Victoria Cho.

       "I saw all these guys running after this kid with a purse in his hand, so I dialed the MBTA emergency line and told them what was happening," said Jay Plumb, a Somerville resident who assisted in the apprehension of the suspect.

        Police caught up to the suspect with the help of the private citizens said Cho, who held no grudges after the incident.

        "I got my purse back after it fell from his hands and I’m okay just a little shook up but nothing serious," she said.
