Love is still one of the sweet mysteries of life. Some consider it a form of madness. So often who we are attracted to, who we fall for, defies logic and reason. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Chiemi, a local singer and songwriter explores this thing called "love" in her poem "What Fools Call Love."
What Fools Call Love

Make Double yourself and I will take

The one less perfect.

Put me down for the one with the flaws,

The one uncertain; the one still searching.

Ever in your arms, but ever in days

As in dawn

Eyes wide in soft pools

In rain

Ever new songs.

New words but …most of all

Ever in what fools call love

Lock me up with the one less pleasant

Not so charming

Bet the farm and the future Porsche

On the one who’s not always winning.

Chain me to the one less happy

And light and life

Will cure all debts

Make all free Make all free ….
