Jehlen wins special election primary

The only State Representative who represents solely Somerville has won the democratic primary for the 2nd Middlesex state Senate seat.

Patricia D. Jehlen, D-Somerville, defeated Joseph K. Mackey, Michael J. Callahan and Paul C. Casey in the race to replace Charles E. Shannon.

Mackey, who finished second, gave his concession speech at Orleans restaraunt at 9:00 p.m.
