Unofficial tally: Jehlen wins Somerville by fewer than 400 votes

According to a source inside one of the two campaigns war rooms, Patricia D. Jehlen has won the Somerville portion of the 2nd Middlesex Senate district by less than 400 votes.

Jehlen was expected to win the city by a more decisive margin and needed to do so to make up for more any losses incurred in the more conservative municipalities of Medford and Woburn.

In Ward 1 precinct 2, White beat Jehlen 205 to 98. In Ward 1, precinct 3, White beat Jehlen 126 to 67. In Ward 2, precinct 1 White beat Jehlen 235 to 232. In Ward 7 precinct 1, Jehlen beat White 266 to 147. In Ward 7, precinct 2 Jehlen beat White 149 to 146.
