Lowell Street Bridge meeting tonight

The Lowell St. Bridge has been shut down over five years but repairs are progressing, said Sen. Patricia D. Jehlen, D-Somerville, this week.
Jehlen has organized a neighborhood meeting tonight at the Visiting Nurses Association to discuss the progress on the bridge with neighborhood residents.

‚ÄúThe meeting is taking place right after the main beams have been installed and residents will have a chance to give feedback on the progress they have seen thus far,‚Äù she said.
Jehlen said a representative from Mass Highway will be at the meeting to detail what has happened to date and the expected time lines for the future construction of the bridge.
‚ÄúWe haven‚Äôt met in several months and this is a good way to keep residents informed of the process and answer any questions they may have,‚Äù she said.
The bridge is expected to open sometime next summer, said Jehlen.
