Small Plane Crashes in NYC

At approximately 2:45 PM today, a small aircraft crashed into a 50-story residential building at the corner of York Avenue and East 72nd Street in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.  The FBI has made a statement saying that terrorism was not involved, although fighter jets were scrambled along the Northeast Corridor as a precaution.

There are four confirmed deaths and it is being reported on ESPN that the plane was registered to Cory Lidle, a starting pitcher with the New York Yankees, and that he was on board when it crashed.  More to follow…
