Last Friday members of the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit Detectives conducted an investigation concerning illegal drug activity that was allegedly occurring on Elm St.
The investigators’ attention was drawn to a woman who was sitting on the steps of a church located at the corner of Elm and Russell Streets.
The woman was reportedly observed making numerous calls on her call phone and behaving in a manner suggesting to the investigators that she was expecting to meet with someone, according to reports.
Eventually another woman arrived at the location and the two walked down Elm St. then turned down Tennery St. and into Cambridge, police said.
There they reportedly met with a man and engaged in what investigators believed to be a drug transaction.
Officers reportedly approached the suspects and commenced to question them.
A search of the man’s pockets revealed a small bag containing a brown powdery substance that the investigators believed was heroin, police said.
The man, James Dillard, 61, of Brockton, reportedly admitted to receiving the heroin from one of the female suspects, according to reports. Susan Jones, 45, of Cambridge, reportedly admitted to selling Dillard the heroin that she had procured from Angela Pisani, 40, of Malden.
All three suspects were placed under arrest and charged with multiple violations of drug laws.
