Happy Birthday to one of our own favorite nurses and the mother of 10, Mary Hart. Also this week, Jessica O’Neil, who is known to be a party animal, is celebrating. Rita Azulay, who we hear turns 76 this week and doesn’t look a day over 50, is celebrating along with her grandson Charles Ryan Roche who turns 23 this week as well. Happy Birthday to Lewis Bacon aka “The Duck Man!” We wish him many quack-quacks this week. Another notable coming this week is a great guy and realtor, Mike Albano. Although he lives in Chelsea, he grew up here in East Somerville.  His father was Senator Sal Albano. A good friend who, although not from Somerville. is known by a lot of people here, Eugene Cappy Capobianco from Malden. He’s a great guy and is very busy these days.

Our sincere condolences to the Larry Post family. Larry recently passed away this past week from a heart attack. He was a great guy, well known and it was a shock to his wife Susan Callahan Post, his brother Steve Post and, of course, his mother Kay. To his entire family and friends, we are deeply saddened by his loss and send our sympathy.

Happy wedding anniversary to our good friends Richard and Lynn Barletta. They are a lovely couple and we wish them many more!

Congratulations to Frank Senesi for another great job as the parade coordinator this past Sunday. The parade was well received throughout the route up to West Somerville. For complete pictures of the parade and some of the participants check out our web site.

Again, our condolences to the family of former Cambridge Police Officer John “Sonny” Gentile aka “Mr. G.” Sonny was a great guy and father to our good friends State Police Sergeant Jack Gentile and Debbie Gentile McMahon. Sonny was well known here in the ‘Ville by many and will certainly be missed.

We see that Guy Fiere, of the “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” fame, was here in the ‘Ville recently to check out Boston Burger in Davis Square. You can see his picture on Facebook along with two Somerville Police Officers. Were they on duty and recognized the famous car? Did they stop him and give him a ticket?

Congratulations to local Sally Jean-Baptiste, who received a BA from Lasell College early this month.

******************

Speaking of congratulations, we wish the graduating class both at the High School and at St. Clements and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors. Classes are getting smaller and smaller every year but the brightest of our educational system continue to shine and go on to make names and good lives for themselves.

******************

Good luck and a speedy recovery to our good friend Joe Dunne. Joe is a great guy and hurt his foot pretty bad while carrying his softball team to victory!

The Somerville News is still looking to hire either a full time or part time advertising person here in Somerville. There is great potential for a student looking for summer job and can be a self starter, or for an elderly person who is retired and wants to stay active. Either way, contact Bobbie Toner at The News: 617 666-4010.
