At 10:16 a.m. Somerville 911 received report of a hold up alarm from the Century Bank, 102 Fellsway West.  Simultaneous calls came from bank personnel.  The suspect reportedly passed a note demanding cash and fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, including bait money.

As police units were arriving, 911 received a call reporting that a suspect matching the description of the robber, was in her yard changing clothes.  The suspect continued to flee through neighborhood yards toward Broadway.  As he approached the area of the former Star Market on Broadway, he was intercepted by police detective units.  He then retreated through neighborhood yards, back in the direction of the bank.  As the police were establishing a two block perimeter, the suspect ran from behind 64 Derby Street directly into the front left side of an approaching police cruiser.  The suspect’s momentum carried him across the hood of the cruiser where he impacted the windshield, landing on the ground next to a parked car.  The suspect then got up and continued to flee, but was quickly subdued by patrol officers.

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to an area hospital for treatment where he remains under guard.  A large quantity of cash, including the bait money was recovered from the suspect.

The suspect is identified as Timothy Walton, d.o.b. 3/20/1987, giving an address of 33 Regina Street in Boston.
