Franklin Salvador heading to Europe

Former Somerville High School basketball star Franklin Salvador is heading to Europe as part of the D3hoops.com All-Star Team.

Thomas College sophomore guard, former Somerville High School boys’ basketball star, Franklin Salvador  has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Star Team and will head to Europe from May 21-31 and is scheduled to visit and play against opponents in Paris, Amsterdam, and Den Bosch, Netherlands.

Salvador finished the 2011-12 season second on the team and fourth in the North Atlantic Conference with 17.2 points per game and led the Terriers shooting 37.4 percent from behind the arc. Salvador picked up both NAC honors and Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State honors, being named Second Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State.

Salvador will join a team of nine other NCAA Division III stand outs that will be coached by Dee Vick of Hampden-Sydney. The team was chosen by Sport Tours International from D3hoops.com All-Region nominees and other 2011-12 Division III men’s basketball standouts.

Salvador graduated from SHS in 2010, he scored 1000+ points with Somerville High boy’s basketball team.
