Celebrate Independence day early tonight

Fireworks_picThe city’s annual Independence Day celebrations kick off at Trum Field at 6:15 tonight with live entertainment from the Sunsetters and the USO. After the song and dance, the fireworks hit the sky at 9:15.

The city has announced the following road closures and parking bans and bus schedule changes:

On Broadway from Ball Square to Magoun Square:  No parking on either side from 4:00 p.m. to midnight. Street closed from 5:00 p.m. ‚Äì midnight.

On Cedar Street from Morrison Avenue to the Bridge: No parking on either side from 8:00 am ‚Äì midnight.  Traffic restricted to residents only from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (from Morrison Ave only). No access to street after 6:00 p.m.

On Cedar Street from the Bridge to Broadway:  No parking on either side from 8:00 am – midnight.
Street will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.  Traffic restricted to residents only from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (from Morrison Ave only). No access to street after 6:00 p.m.

On Franey Road: No Parking on either side from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.  Street will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.  Restricted area authorized personnel only.

On Ryan Road:  No parking on either side of street from 8:00 a.m. to midnight. Access restricted to residents from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  No access to street from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
