Somerville’s Annual Tree Lighting 2011

The City’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on Thursday night on the City Hall Concourse followed by a meet and greet with Santa Claus. The tree lighting ceremony featured musical entertainment by the Somerville High School Band; the SHS Chorus; the Somerville Community Chorus; and local opera singer Lara Kahn. Special guest, Santa Claus was escorted by the Somerville Fire Department for the ceremony. Children were able to meet and take a photo with Santa in the Somerville High School Highlander Café following the tree lighting. All the children received a gift from Santa.
