Somerville Police investigate shooting incident

At about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Somerville Police responded to 10 Illinois Avenue for a report of gunshots.  Upon the arrival of police, they discovered a 35 year old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the front porch.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where his wounds were determined to be non-life threatening.  Police also discovered that a parked vehicle that had also been struck by a single gunshot.

Police are searching for a black male who was seen entering a silver grey Chrysler seconds after the shooting that may have been associated with this incident.

Somerville Police and State Police Crime Scene Investigators gathered evidence throughout the night and have continued to investigate this incident all weekend.  Preliminary indications are that the suspect and victim are known to each other and may have been involved in an argument just before the shots were fired.
