The Somerville High School Freshman Girls Volleyball team enjoyed another victory this week, this time against Malden.

The Highlanders won in two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-18.

Serves were important in the first match with Freshman Alba Haxmihali having eight service points and Freshman Kathlyn Almeida having six service points. The Highlanders ran away with the match with serves and great defense.

The second match was a combined effort. Defense was key and the Lady Highlanders played well returning some great serves from the Malden team. Naticha Lewis, Cheyanna Grant-Johnson, and Cassandra Paiva were key defenders in the second match. The Highlanders record is now 3-1 with wins against Cambridge, Haverhill, and Malden.
