A Kids Fun Run followed the main event, and a post race party with food, beverages, and awards ceremony was enjoyed by all participants. Each participant also received a goodie bag from Marathon Sports.

The Brian Higgins Foundation was established as a memorial to Brian and as a means of helping other children with special needs and their families. Events like this one help families in various ways, including scholarships, and paying for medical equipment that insurance will not cover.
