Mayor Joe Curtatone and the Somerville Chamber of Commerce have announced that the third annual B2Green Expo and Networking event will be held Thursday, May 5, at the Holiday Inn at 30 Washington Street.
Running from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., the Expo will occur simultaneously with the Chamber’s popular Business After Hours event featuring free appetizers, excellent networking, business card drawing, and cash bar. The Expo will feature presentations by local green businesses and organizations, as well as tips for businesses about utilizing more sustainable and energy-efficient practices.
“We are excited to produce the third B2Green, bringing together businesses that provide services with those that can benefit from them” said Rebecca Schrumm, chair of the Chamber of Commerce’s Green Committee. “This year will feature new businesses and non-profits providing unique information on our green economy.”
“The City of Somerville is proud to once again partner with the Chamber of Commerce for this event,” said David Lutes, director of the city’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment. “This is not only a way for our small business community to introduce energy-saving best practices to their colleagues, but a great opportunity for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and even residents to learn about money- and energy-saving measures.”
Arrowstreet Inc., a local architecture firm that designed the first LEED Platinum building in Greater Boston will have a display. Business partners MetroPedal Power, Green City Growers & Groundwork Somerville will highlight the growth and impact of Somerville’s green economy at its best. InCharge Energy is providing Renewable Energy Credits for the event.
The Expo is sponsored by Bunker Hill Community College. Business After Hours networking sponsored by Century Bank. For more information, visit www.somervillechamber.org
