Swimmers qualify for Special Olympics event

Qualifying trials for the upcoming Special Olympics swimming competition was held at the J. F. Kennedy Elementary School pool in Somerville on Saturday, April 23. This was the 2nd year that the annual event was held there.

Assisted and unassisted events were arranged for swimmers hoping to take part in the Special Olympics to be held at Harvard University Blogette Pool June 18-19.

Krista Doyle

Krista Doyle earned a gold medal in the 15 yard freestyle and silver medal in the 25 yard freestyle. Daniel Bussy also took gold in the 15 and 25 yard freestyle events, while Joe Raposo also earned top honors in the 25 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke.

Kennedy Pool is enjoying its third year of coaching its Special Olympics Swim Team.
