Four people were arrested March 23 and charged with using a gun to stick up a pick up basketball game at Florence Street Park.
The victims told an officer they were robbed of “all their stuff” from cell phones and cash to rosary beads and cigarettes, police said. They tracked down an officer on patrol seconds after the alleged stick up and described the suspects, police said.
As police pursued, one of the victims allegedly pointed to the car wash on Washington and Florence streets and yelled, “There they are.”
The victims identified DeJahn Harrison, 22, of 83 Waterston Ave., Quincy, as the gunman and Kenyatta McCall, 30, homeless, and Timmy Spencer, 23, of 351 Marshall Ave., Malden, as the men who took all their belongings, police said. When officers stopped the men they were in a car operated by Michelle Thatcher, 23, of 351 Marshall Ave., Malden.
During a search of the motor vehicle, police allegedly found a small .380 handgun with one bullet in the chamber under the passenger seat. Police said the gun was easily accessible to anyone in the car. As police searched for the gun, Harrison allegedly became nervous and started to talk very loud repeating, “Why would I do something stupid like have a gun? I have a baby now.”
Thatcher was charged with armed robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, using a motor vehicle in a felony or larceny and carrying a firearm with ammunition. McCall, Harrison and Spencer were charged with armed robbery, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying a firearm with ammunition.
