The annual fireworks display will probably be the highlight of my July 4th weekend. I may pop up to Old Orchard Beach for a day trip. When the kids were younger, we would always spend July 4th weekend there. What are our Somerville neighbor’s plans? Each set of quotes is a new person’s remarks.

“Simple. Cookout with family and watch the fireworks.”

“Canobie Lake fireworks with the grandkids.” (I love Canobie Lake)

“77th Birthday. Oh my!!!!” (happy birthday)

“We are going to have a picnic at Powderhouse Park.”

“We will watch the fireworks from atop Prospect Hill Park.”

“Longest continuous 4th of July celebration in my town of Bristol, RI! The works!”

“We are having a big cookout. Trying out my new smoker.”

“Some of my friends are going into Boston to hear that concert and watch the fireworks. Another friend will be on his boat on the Charles.”

For a few years we had a camper in New Hampshire until my boys became too busy to go there.  This year I’ll be sure to have plenty of hot dogs on hand. Of course, I’ll watch the Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest.

If I recall, July 4th was the day the city passed out Hoidsies at the playgrounds. Happy Fourth!
