Dead man found on train tracks

A dead body was found Sunday on the MBTA commuter rail tracks near the Somerville city line.

Authorities said the deceased was a white male in his 40s. Transit Police were notified in the afternoon that there was a body located on the MBTA commuter rail tracks off O’Brien Highway.

Transit Police along with Cambridge Fire, and EMS responded to the scene behind the Sav-Mor liquor store at 201 Monsignor O’Brien Highway to investigate.

The State Medical Examiners Office and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office were  notified.

Authorities said the death does not appear to be suspicious. The man’s identity has not been released.
