Life in the Ville by Jimmy Del Ponte
Back in the day I spent a lot of New Year’s Eves playing in bands for private parties. But my friends and I would rent a couple of hotel rooms, buy a ton of booze and spend New Year’s Eve like that. There are also a lot of local clubs around the area that had New Year’s Eve parties. That’s why I asked my friends to share their New Year’s Eve antics from yesteryear.
RT says: “1973, Holiday Inn, Cambridge. For $69.00 per couple we got dinner, open bar, live entertainment, and a room.
It was quite a night, I won’t go into details here.”
GM: “I never really went out for new years. and if I did I stayed local.. The Embassy, Club 3, The Bullpen”
“Caruso’s Diplomat in Saugus. $40.00, full roast beef dinner, live band and a champagne toast at midnight.”
AD: “My mother’s house. Lobster and beer at midnight. Cousins and card games. Not bad for a little kid. They taught me well.
Always have fun and be safe!
Happy New Year!
