Employees throughout Somerville and all of Massachusetts love working at Riverside due to the compassionate culture, diverse workforce, and mission-driven ethos.

Riverside Community Care, a nonprofit leader in behavioral healthcare and human services with services at 117 Summer Street and throughout Somerville, has been named a 2023 Top Place to Work by The Boston Globe. The winners were featured in Globe Magazine on Sunday, December 3.

Nearly 400 organization names were submitted earlier this year when the Globe requested nominations of top companies for which to work. Riverside’s inclusion in the annual ranking was based on feedback from a confidential and anonymous survey sent to employees of all nominated companies, covering topics such as company management, organizational direction, employee engagement, work environment, and benefits.

The list of 2023 Top Employers included public, private, nonprofit, and government employers in Massachusetts, and Riverside placed number thirteen in the largest category (1,000 or more employees).

Marsha Medalie, Riverside Community Care CEO, applauded staff for driving Riverside’s success. “This award is a significant honor as it results from the thoughtful input of our employees. They embody our mission every day as they serve and support our most vulnerable neighbors while simultaneously creating a workplace that encourages and uplifts one another.”

This is the second year in a row that Riverside was named a Top Place to Work in Massachusetts. The nonprofit also received a Top 100 Women-Led Business award from The Women’s Edge and Globe Magazine in November 2023.
