Somerville Police Crime Log Aug. 22 – 28

Robbery
On 8/23/23 at approximately 11:52 p.m, Somerville Police responded to Washington St for report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was sitting outside when an unknown male struck him in the head and stole $40 from him.

Assault
On 8/22/23 at approximately 8:44 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Assembly Row for report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female party who stated a male party approached her friend and began punching her. The male then stole a vehicle belonging to the reporting party but stopped the car shortly after and fled the area.
 
Assault
On 8/24/23 at approximately 12:45 p.m., a male party came into the station to report a past assault. He stated that he was assaulted by a male known to him several times in January and February.
 
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 8/22/23 at approximately 7:54 p.m, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Mystic Valley Pkwy for report of a larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated a bicycle was stolen from his garage.
 
Arrest
On 8/22/23 at approximately 7:46 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Franklin St for report of an injured party. Upon arrival, officers witnessed a male party attacking another a male party with a shoe. Officers detained the suspect and he was placed under arrest. The victim suffered a laceration to his eye.
 
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 8/26/23 at approximately 11: 06 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on Sewall St for report of a B&E in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the resident who stated he saw a white male, in his 40s, brown hair, black beard, wearing a black hoodie, black sweat pants, black sneakers in his living room. He confronted the suspect and he fled the area prior to police arrival.
 
Assault
 
On 8/27/23 at approximately 4:23 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Beacon St & Buckingham St for a fight. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he and his wife were traveling on bicycles and noticed a vehicle blocking the bike lane. The victim confronted the operator of the vehicle and an argument ensued. When the victim and his wife continued biking, the operator of the vehicle drove up on the sidewalk and struck the victim causing an injury to his leg.
 
Assault
On 8/26/23 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a business on Elm St for a fight. Upon arrival, officers observed a male party kicking another male in the head. Officers learned that the male party being attacked had stolen the other male’s wallet. Officers identified both males.
