A 59-year-old Cambridge woman was struck and seriously injured as she crossed Washington Street at Tufts Street on Sunday, police said.

The woman was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where she was in stable condition Monday morning.

Somerville Police Crash Reconstruction responded and are investigating the incident. Washington Street near the accident scene was closed for three hours Sunday.

Police said preliminary indications are that speed or alcohol were not factors. The driver is cooperating with investigators.
