Despite a spirited effort by senior captain Kelsey Garrity, the Highlanders suffered a tough 67-39 defeat to St. Mary’s of Lynn in Thursday night’s non-league match-up at Tony Conigliaro Gym.

Now after a tough 0-3 start, the Lady Highlanders are searching for answers on the court.

The Highlanders continued their non-league schedule by participating in the annual Highlander Hoop tournament scheduled to take place on Monday night and Wednesday.

Garrity, who had a team high 14 points, guided the Highlanders to a 10-10 tie towards the end of the first quarter before the Spartans issued an impressive 22-3 run en route to a 32-13 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Spartans continued to dominate, executing another run en route to the 28-point win.

Other contributors for the Spartans included Indira Evora, who added 10 points in the losing effort.
