And throughout three hours, parents, siblings and patrons alike were dancing to the tunes of the famed artist. "It's great to see so many people come out to the event," said School of Rock General Manager Anderson Mar. "Each concert, we're getting more and people to come out to the shows and see what we're all about. The parents are having such a great time, and they're so into it. It's great to see." With an estimated crowd of approximately 150 on hand, children ages eight to 16 displayed their fine skills on such songs as "Let's Dance", "Ziggy Stardust" and other popular hits that the British artist recorded during the 70s, 80s and 90s. Students performed over 15 songs, while receiving a standing ovation after each number was completed. "It's great to see the kids are so into it," said Mar. "They're into the same music that their parents grew up with. It brings families closer together, and this experience will be something that they'll remember for the rest of their lives."

Throughout three months of intense weekly rehearsals, the cast of over 12 student musicians took to the stage, while delivering a stellar flawless performance.

"I'm so proud of what the kids accomplished," said Mar, who is also an accomplished vocalist in the local band Sans Nomenclature. "These kids have so much talent, and they sound amazing. There's no feeling in the world than being on stage and this experience will not only help them in the short term, but also in the long term."

Working under the tutelage of Music Director Bill Galatis, the show was a success both musically and also from a turnout standpoint.

"I couldn't have asked for a better turnout," said Mar. "I know it's winter time, and a lot of people don't like to go out, but everybody came out and showed their support, and the show was a total success."

Throughout the show, the students not only displayed their musical talents on stage, but also showed off some striking fashion wear. Some clothing included wigs, glitter and hair spray.

"It's so cute to see them dress up and perform," said Mar. "These (students) are so passionate about the music, and they've worked so hard to get to this point. Now they have the chance to show all of their hard work for everyone to see. They put hours in learning their songs and it's such a rewarding feeling to see it come to fruition."
