The arts editor of Somerville’s Ibbetson Street magazine, Jennifer Matthews, has released a new music video this week, entitled Exploding Stars. Matthews, a gifted and accomplished singer/songwriter, appears in the video dancing in a diaphanous blue gown, her hands uplifted to the sky, the raining light and to the wonders of the universe.

She either plays herself, or more likely some enchanting sprite, or a mix of both. The video was filmed and created by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Olivia Huang, and was produced by the talented producer/engineer/guitarist Bryant Jackson. The song is mesmerizing and infused with striking images from Tibet, India and space. Matthews, who has long been fascinated by music from the Middle East and the Far East, immerses herself in this dynamic and delightful production.
