St. Clement’s running back Michael Julce emerged from last week’s Thanksgiving Day game with more than a full stomach. Julce rushed for a touchdown and Tim Rezendes added a pair as St. Clement rolled to a 31-14 win over Trinity Catholic in Thursday’s match-up at Daly Field. With the win, the Anchormen finished the season at 5-6 overall.

Midway through the first quarter the Anchormen engineered a scoring drive capped off by a Julce three yard plunge into the end zone. Capped off by a run by James Alphonse, the Anchormen grabbed an 8-0 lead. Tying the contest, the Falcons engineered a long scoring drive followed by a one-yard touchdown run.

On another scoring drive, the Anchormen regained the lead at 16-8 as Rezendes delivered on a two-yard touchdown run.

With a 16-8 halftime lead in hand, the Anchormen increased the lead to 24-8 as Matthew Pereira registered an 11-yard touchdown run. Dodging through a pair of tacklers at the line of scrimmage, Pereira scampered into the end zone and following a two-point conversion run by Alphonse, the Highlanders grabbed a 24-8 lead.

Securing the win, the Anchormen increased the lead to 31-8 as Kayion Chambers hauled in a 63-yard touchdown pass from Rick Brathwaite. Capping the scoring, the Falcons trimmed the lead to 31-14 as Brandon Martotilli hauled in a touchdown pass midway through the fourth quarter.
