Person struck, trapped by Red Line train in Davis Sq.

On Monday, June 29, at 10:44 a.m., the Somerville Fire Department responded to the Davis Square Red Line T Station for a Technical Rescue involving a person struck by a train.

Upon arrival, companies found the victim significantly pinned underneath the wheels of the subway car, suffering life threatening injuries.

Members faced the daunting task of having to jack up the car while positioned underneath it. After an hour long extraordinary effort by the SFD, the MBTA, and Cataldo Ambulance Service, the victim was extricated alive.

Everyone involved hopes for a positive outcome for the victim.
