Ryan, Robert L. Sr., 87 years old of Medford, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2016, surrounded by family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Teresa B. (O’Neil) and the loving father of Marian Ryan and her husband, Michael Foley, of Belmont, Carolyn Allen and her husband, James, of Wilmington, Joyce Ryan of Chelmsford and Robert L. Ryan Jr. and his wife,  Susanna,  of Milton. Dear brother of Thomas and Stephen Ryan both of Belmont and the late Katherine Lovejoy. Cherished grandfather of Daniel, Kevin, Stephen R., Stephen A., Michael, Joseph, Patrick, Elizabeth, Julia, Matthew, Benjamin and Grace. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

Robert was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer St, Somerville, Friday morning at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
